Andrew Kibe's momentum doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. The media personality is one of the few celebs who is dominating the airwaves at the moment.

His influence has grown so much that he has even introduced his own lingo into the Kenyan lexicon. Words like Fukuswi, Lambistic, Kinuthia, just to name a few have become terms that many Kenyans are now using regularly.

How was he able to do it?

Let's first take a brisk trip down memory lane.

Andrew Kibe first became a name to contend with when he and Kamene Goro teamed up at NRG radio. They were the most popular duo at the station and were soon poached by Kiss100 in 2019.

But Kibe wanted to do his own thing and quit Kiss100 in June 2020 to start his own digital radio station, Rogue Radio.

That move would later turn out to be a tough step for him as he struggled to march the fame and popularity he had achieved during his stints at NRG and Kiss100.

He even admitted the same in one of his videos, saying,

“Remember in the middle of 2020, I left my job. I thought I would make it like this (snaps finger). Immediately I left I knew the next day I would start making it…Don’t lie to yourself. That journey is long and hard as a [expletive]. You have to go and beg while pitching to people who don’t want to listen to you…I lost my car, I lost my house where I was living. I was homeless for a minute. 2020 f**ked me so badly and rewarded me at the same time.”

But things started taking a turn for the better in mid 2021

His grit, wit, and patience came to bear with his YouTube and Instagram pages enjoying significant growth this past year.

While his Instagram page has 210k followers, Kibe's YouTube page is where he really shines. The engagement he gets during his daily lives are something to behold-even averaging 4k concurrents a night!

Just at the beginning of March 2022, Kibe was on the cusp of hitting 100k subscribers. Now he is 25k from getting to 200k, a number that he will most likely reach by May this year if he keeps on uploading.

But what makes the controversial Kibe such a compelling character with such a dedicated following? I cover that in the article directly below. Please check it out.
