After the drama between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the Oscars, Kenyans fronted Lawyer Cliff Ombeta as the best criminal lawyer to defend the latter in case a legal action is initiated.

Memes of how Cliff Ombeta would defend Will Smith in court started doing rounds.

Ombeta, who is among the top criminal lawyers in the country has responded to the calls, offering to represent Will Smith in court.

Responding to a post by Lupita Nyong'o, Cliff Ombeta asked the Hollywood star to recommend his services to Will Smith.

"Incase Will akidandiwa, mshow uko na bro kenya who is a lawyer na anadeal na kesi kama hizo," Ombeta wrote.

The Kenyan lawyer went on to give a tease of how he would defend Will Smith in a court of law.

"Clearly, he was asking how many fingers are on the right hand. Nothing more here," Ombeta captioned a photo of Will Smith landing a slap on Chris Rock.

During the 2022 Oscars on 28th March, Will Smith moved to the stage and slapped Chris Rock after he made a joke about his(Will's) wife Jada Pinkett.

Now, Will Smith has apologized to Chris Rock, saying the joke about Jada's health condition was too bad for him to handle.

"Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behaviour at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable.

Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally," Will wrote in a social media post.
