Ezekiel Mutua, aka the moral cop, was appointed the new CEO of the Music Copyright
In his new role, Mutua is expected to oversee the collection of royalties in public performance and broadcasting, on behalf of its members and to distribute the same to its members,
However, a number of artists do not believe that the moral cop can defend them since they did not have a good working relationship while he was the CEO of the Kenya Films and Classification Board.
Speaking on Ezekiel's appointment, Chimano termed it as a process of recycling the same government officials.
"Ezekiel Mutua's appointment is such nonsense... Recycling bin inc. That's what we are," Chimano wrote.
On the other hand, Bien also condemned the appointment of Mutua terming it as an 'elevation of mediocrity.'
"Ezekiel Mutua's appointment is a disappointment. What did he do for film? Kenya continues to elevate mediocrity. This is just sad."
Comedian Eric Omondi also rebuked Mutua's appointment, saying that he will keep fighting with the former KFCB boss.
"Hii kenya tunasonga steps mbili mbele alafu kumi nyuma Wembe itakua ni ile ile. Akileta unafiki tutafanya kama Will Smith," Eric Omondi.
