Professor Hamo was recently interviewed by YouTuber, Mungai Eve, at Akuku Danger's 1 mic 30 artistes event.

One of the questions she asked him was whether he agreed with Andrew Kibe's assessment that he had stopped being funny?

Hamo was frank and admitted that for a while there he had indeed lost direction in his comedy.

"You know, kuna time nilikuwa nimelose focus because of one thing and it's part of this business. Ni kama kufungua shamba na kuanza kulima, unapanda ngano, hakunyeshi zinapotea unajaribu jani inakataa, unachukua cabbage upeleke marikiti unagongwa, that's the nature of this business."

He observed that that was a normal part of life but stressed that one should keep standing up after one falls.

"The essence is to keep looking at the ball, eyes on that ball. You will go down, come back up and in fact, now am even more fun because of my family and children."

He finished off by explaining that balancing the pressures of being a celebrity and having a family( He has two by the way!), were a tough juggling act.

"What happened is unajua you are struggling to balance the celebrity. You are under pressure to do what you do and you are raising a family so it's not kawaida. Pressure ile tunapitianga sio kawaida. It's not easy. I should even be congratulated for how I have fared so far," he finished.
