Loyal Kenyan man goes to Dubai alone after bae failed to get passport

It’s been said that men are dogs and that Kenyans are the worst of them all. But one Emmanuel Rono disproved that notion this week.

The 25-year-old won a ticket for two to attend the Afrozon Dubai experience and immediately began plans to do so with his girlfriend of two years Mary Mwahaki.

Unfortunately, she didn’t get a passport in time, but Emmanuel was so determined to go with his girlfriend that he didn’t have a plan b. Most Kenyan men would have shopped for a slay queen online and ponyokad with them, but Emmanuel is another breed.

“When Mwalimu Rachel called me to confirm I was going with her to Dubai, I couldn’t believe it. Until the very last minute I was just hoping I would go with my girlfriend that’s why I didn’t think of looking for someone else,” Emmanuel says.

“I feel so bad that Mary couldn’t be with me, I feel lonely here without her, but I have made good friends, hopefully, we will get another chance to go somewhere together.”

While in Dubai during the Afrozons experience, Emmanuel has visited the Dubai Expo, done a city tour, and lived the life of a Hollywood Star at the luxurious Paramount Hotel in Dubai Business Bay.
