Flora Mtegoa, mother to the late actor Stephen Kanumba says the death of his son made her go back into acting.

Speaking during an interview with Global TV, she says her late son was her provider and his death meant she had no one to depend on.

Although she has other kids, Kanumba was among the most successful one thanks to his career.

"I have always been talented. In high school, I used to act but after that, I became a wife and a mother so I stopped acting. I put that dream aside, I think nlijisahau."

She added that after she lost her son, she decided to go back to her first love, which was acting.

"When I gave birth to him (Kanumba) I could see he had the talent to act. He would ask me to watch his shows and advise him on where to improve.

Seeing how I struggled to raise them, he told me to stop working once he became famous through his acting career."

Adding;

"Given I was not lacking anything as my other kids were also providing for me I did not tell him I wanted to act. I started acting one year after his death."

Kanumba was a celebrated Tanzanian actor loved for his flawless performance on the screens.

He passed away in 2012 after he was hit on the head after falling down a staircase and hitting a wall.

Kanumba was taken unconscious to Muhimbili National Referral Hospital where he was declared dead.
