Stories of women being swindled by men pretending to be in love with them have been so rampant.

The case of 'Tinder Swindler' has its Kenyan version, where men find single ladies and lure them in the name of love.

In a discussion on NTV, a lady named Rose Kemunto shared how a man pretending to be in love swindled her instead.

"I lost the money in batches...the first one was the Sh 500,000 which he borrowed and i gave him in cash. From there it was give me 300,000 here...100,000 here... 200,000 here. In total i lost about 1.2 Million. 500 is the cash that i had...the rest i had to go to an institution to borrow," she shared.

The man knew that she was borrowing the money and that she could easily get it.

According to Rose, the man would say that he has a contract for a certain tender, but never showed her the documents.

"I was given the excuse of the contract is with my sister. I had other friends in the institution that he was working but i couldn't call to ask because he did not want me to do that."

AS if the 'Character development' was not enough, the man encouraged Kemunto to quit her job.

"He came into another business deal. He asked me to get him 200,000, by the time i was in the Matatu industry. He knew how the business was hectic...he told me he should have it and ferry his employees from the farm and he would be paying me," she said.

Handed over the Matatu to him and the man used it as a surety to take a loan from a Shylock . After failing to repay the loan, the Matatu was possessed by the financiers of the loan.
