Singer Debbie Asila is in mourning after the death of her mother on Valentine's day.

Jane Nellie Asila died after battling a long illness on February 14, 2022.

According to the obituary, "Friends and relatives are meeting at CITAM Valley Road (Richard Bombay Hall) today Friday 18/02/2022, and Monday 21/02/2022 from 5.30 pm for funeral arrangements."

Jane Nellie is survived by her husband Paul Mabwa Asila, daughters Reba Sijenyi (Canada), Eunice Asila, Debbie Asila (USA) and Elam Asila (EEJ Platinum). Mother-in-law of Gerald Sijenyi, Esther Chibole-Asila, among others.

She was the grandmother to nine (9) and great-grandmother to one (1).

A virtual service presided by CITAM; will be held on Saturday 19/02/2022 at 6.00 pm. There will be a fundraising on Tuesday 22/02/2022 at All Saints Cathedral at 5.30 pm to offset the medical bills and burial costs.
