Rapper Stivo Simpleboy's girlfriend has shared memories of her childhood days when she was sexually abused by her stepfather.
In a confession on her social media, Purity - who fondly calls herself Pritty, recalled life in Kibera.
"My biological dad broke up with my mum and she remarried. It was back in 2012…my grandfather died, after the burial we came and started a new life. After some time, my dad started taking advantage of me. We used to stay in a single room and I would sleep on the floor with my younger brother," Pritty shared.
She went on to narrate how her stepfather would abuse her, but her mum took time to notice it.
“At 2 AM, my dad would come and start touching me, I would tell him to stop but my mum never heard me…she is a deep sleeper. Neighbors started telling her that they would hear me saying ‘Niache’ but she assumed I was sleep talking," she added.
Then, Purity was in class four and was scared of telling her mother what was happening since her step-dad warned her not to talk about it.
After the behavior persisted, Pritty found an escape route. She would go to sleep at her Grandmother’s house.
One day her mother found out that she was sneaking at night and she canned her thoroughly.
“When the caning persisted I decided to tell her the truth, my mum stopped beating me and started crying. When my father came, she questioned him…he denied it, saying I was trying to break their marriage."
Pritty added that when her mum shared with family, they said the same thing – that she wanted to ruin their marriage.
"My father stopped it for a while but started again. I shared with my mum and we reported the issue in a police station. He was detained for two weeks and was released after promising to stop it," she said.
Pritty shared that after she grew older, she gained the courage to tell of her stepdad, and he stopped abusing her.
