• "And this someone braved up, held me all through the 3pushes, took very beautiful pics of Makena Nduta and me, and she stayed there with us as I said goodbye." - Auntie Jemimah
Gukena FM presenter Auntie Jemimah has shared memories of losing her unborn baby.
In a social media post, Jemimah revealed that her daughter Makena Nduta died before she was born.
Jemimah recalled how the news that her daughter's heart was not beating broke her heart.
"When the Sonographer broke the news that there was no fetal activity on 28th Sept 2021,I almost lost my mind. I didn’t understand how, and it broke me in ways I have never ever imagined," she shared.
At that difficult moment, Jemimah found comfort in her friend Carole Njoroge.
"And the next morning I knew exactly who to call. I knew I wanted to call someone who had gone through what I was going through that very moment. I wanted someone who will understand and tell me to feel it all. I wanted to hug someone who would let me cry without telling me to stop," Jemimah said.
Carole not only gave the radio presenter cum comedian a shoulder to lean on but, also witnessed her giving birth to the baby.
"And when the time to give birth finally came at around noon, I needed to go into that labour ward with this someone. And this someone braved up, held me all through the 3pushes, took very beautiful pics of Makena Nduta and me, and she stayed there with us as I said goodbye.
And when I went home empty, I still called her endless times amidst breakdowns because I miss my girl so much! And she still tells me it's okay."
For this reason, Jemimah chose to give Carole a special Christmas gif.
"And so I wanted to say thank you to this special girl today, for everything! May you always find ready hands and hearts to hold you up and to remind you how amazing you are! Thank you @carole_njoroge Thank you. Asante sana. Words fail me. Happy holidays Mama Jelani and Gigi," she shared.
