Coast-based singer Masauti has responded to claims that he was kicked out of the stage during his performance at the Bright Future concert.
Earlier reports indicated that Masauti and Nadia Mukami were unceremoniously ordered out of the stage to give room for Tanzania's Mbosso to headline the event.
Now, Masauti says that Mbosso should not be blamed for what happened at Mombasa.
He said that one of the organizers of the event is the one to blame.
"Nataka niwaombe tu kwanza tukio hili lilitokea lisitumike kumharibia rafiki yangu @mbosso_ jina wakati siye aliyeandaa show hii. Makosa yatupiwe waandalizi wa show hio mchwara tena sio wote ni dada mmoja tu ambaye singependa nimtaje jina. Yeye ndo hakutaka kuheshimu kazi yangu na kunionyesha thamani kama msanii wa nyumbani," he said.
Masauti further explain that he decided to handle the disrespect calmly for the sake of his family.
"Lakini kama mpambanaji niliamua kueka kazi kwanza maana sipendi kueka hisia zangu mbele kwakua nina familia nyuma inayoniangalia mimi tu. Siku ile ya show walienda kinyume na mahitaji yangu kwenye rider lakini wala sikuvunjika moyo kwakua ni kijana ninayepambania sanaa yangu ili familia yangu ipate rizki," he added.
Masauti further explained that the fracas began 30 minutes after he had taken the stage to perform.
"Nilifika kwenye location nikasubiri hadi mda wangu wa kupanda stage kuperform. Baada ya kama nusu saa hivi, nikiendelea kuperfoem nikaona nyuma kuna mvutano unaendelea kati ya management yangu na watu kwenye stage. Yuleyule dada alitaka kunikatiza show katikati."
According to Masauti, the DJ stopped the music because the lady threatened not to pay him.
He says Mseto East Africa show host Mzazi Willy Mtuva had to step in and calm down Masauti's team and the female organizer.
"Aliungana nasi show ikaendelea. Nikaimba na mashabiki zangu hadi wakati wangu ukaisha ndo nikashuka kwenye stage."
