People were shocked when US rapper, Common, and his girlfriend, Tiffany Haddish announced their breakup last month.

Many wondered what might have precipitated the split? But 49-year-old Common has decided to speak on the issue saying that the two had a great relationship but things changed when things opened up after the Covid pandemic lockdowns.

During an interview with Fox Soul, the 'Glory' rapper explained that the two had had a great relationship which was full of maturity and communication.

"One of the best-hearted and most authentic and caring people I've met in life. That's what made me love her and be in love with her and want to be in a relationship with her and grow with her," he explained.

But an opening of the world after the Covid pandemic made spending quality time with each other much harder.

"It really didn't allow for us to spend as much time and put as much energy into our relationship. I don't think the love really dispersed, we weren't feeding the relationship and neither one of us is gonna stop. We both care about our crafts and what we do," Common said.
