Comedian Eric Omondi was arrested on Tuesday afternoon while staging a protest near parliament buildings.

The arrest turned out to be dramatic after Eric resorted to resisting the police officers trying to arrest him.

While struggling to escape the hands of police officers, the comedian wailed, pleading with the officers to allow him to present his concerns to parliament.

"Don't arrest me, don't touch me.. we will not suffer in this country, you have to listen to us.. we are your children... I want to give a letter to my MP.. what have I done?" Eric Omondi lamented.

The protesters who had accompanied Eric Omondi were dispersed with tear gas as the comedian was taken to Central Police Station for detention.

The manner in which Eric Omondi was handled during the arrest has sparked debate on police brutality.

"No idea what's going on. Still, Eric Omondi has every right to protest and if the police think he has broken any law, he should be arrested in a humane manner.

All those men using so much force to arrest one man. Shameful," activist Boniface Mwangi stated.
