This new free plan allows you to make personalised recommendations, create profiles and make required parental controls. You can set the parental controls according the age of your child.

Some of the shows that your child can enjoy are; South African ‘Blood and Water’, ‘Mwogli: Legend of the jungle’ and many more depending on the age restrictions you have place on your Android phone.

Content that Netflix isn’t offering in the free plan is indicated with a lock icon. If you or your child clicks on the locked show, it will inform you on how to upgrade to a paid Netflix plan.

To sign-up for the free plan, simply download the app on your Android phone, enter your email address, confirm you are above 18 years or over and create a password.

To choose the TV shows and movies that you think your kids can watch, you can choose to manage their profiles or create a profile for them with the Netflix kids experience and title it ‘Just for kids.’

Steps to setup parental control on you Netflix free plan:

1. Go to your Netflix account and log in
2. Scroll to ‘profile and parental controls’ and click to the profile you want to lock
3. Change the profile lock setting
4. Enter your Netflix account password on the screen
5. Tick the box that says ‘require a pin’ to access the profile
6. Enter the four number pin into the field

You can stop children from bypassing these settings by adding a new profile to your account without adding a pin and select ‘Require pin to add new profiles’
