Nyashinski and wife pay moving tribute to Janet Bett

Award-winning star Nyashinski and his wife Zipporah 'Zia' Bett paid tribute to Janet Bett - Karoney who passed away after battling a rare type of blood cancer.

Janet had always wanted to write her own eulogy, she started it and unfortunately was not able to finish it so we as her friends and family helped her finish it.

Zia added, "Janet was a born again Christia ad we look forward to meeting her again in heaven."

Janet's last words read: "Lord make me a rainbow. I'll shine down on my mother She'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colours. Ain't even grey, but she buries her baby Well, I've had just enough time. What I never did is done."

Adding, "Gather up your tears, keep 'em in your pocket. Save em for a time when you're really gonna need em, oh.

And I'll be wearing white when I go into His kingdom So put on your best, and I'll wear my pearls Send me away with the words of a love song. Until we meet again."

At the funeral service, Janet's hubby Brian Karoney also paid tribute to her.

"My heart is a bit heavy today, so for the sake of my wife who was a very cheerful person, I  will step out of my grief and celebrate her. I had the privilege of being Janet's husband for four years. We got married in 2017 but we met in 2009, we were friends back then, it was a friendship that has grown over the years into a loving family that we have here today."

He continued, "My sisters have been here with me, from the day we got the diagnosis to the day Janet passed. That night, I couldn't find sleep and they stayed on the phone with me, I was in India the whole night. I'm eternally grateful to have such loving sisters."

Holding their only child, Nemeye, Brian said, "She loved her mother very much, every day she would hug her mummy and when we were in India, my mum made sure that Nemeye spoke to Janet every day, she would say hey over the phone and love you over the phone and give mummy a kiss every single day before Janet went to ICU and passed on.

She has been with mummy her entire life and she has loved her and has shown  her love."

Brian also played the video of his grand proposal to Janet at the Nairobi Cinema where he hired the entire theatre for the grand proposal.
