Controversial musician Esther Akoth alias Akothee has asked her fans to ignore her social media kind of lifestyle and instead focus on her as a person.
Speaking in a podium where Kisumu governor Anyang' Ny'ong'o was present, the single mother of five said her parents raised her well as a simple and innocent girl.
"I thank God for my parents. The Akothee you see on social media is not the Esther you see standing here. My mother brought up a simple, loving, innocent and intelligent girl called Esther Akoth Okello," she said.
She cautioned her fans against copying some of the things she does on social media saying that the world has turned her to be like that. She added that she feels ashamed of what she does on social media.
"Yule Akothee, is the development that the world has given me, don't copy Akothee. Even me, I don't understand her coz she embarrasses me, she hurts me, makes me lose good relationships, I am talking about Akothee and not Esther Akoth. Esther is a very sweet girl. Leave Akothee."
Akothee has on many occasions left many talking with regards to her online theatrics and also her no-nonsense personality, to the extent that one may argue that she thrives in them.
