Wizkid's collaboration with Justin Bieber, 'Essence' has been the talk of the town the past few months making him the premier Nigerian artiste above even the likes of Davido and Burna Boy.

The song has become Wizkid's biggest song on Billboard Hot 100 Chart with the remix is currently number nine.

The song which also features Nigerian singer Tems, has already broken several records, becoming the first Nigerian song to crack the Billboard Hot 100 chart and rose to top-20.

Last month, it was atop the Billboard Hip Hop and R&B chart and this month became the first Nigerian song to be certified platinum in the United States.

What many might not know is that he wasn't the one who proposed the collabo but Bieber himself! Yep! You read that right. He recalled this in a recent interview with Complex, saying;

“He reached out to me and he loved the record. He sent the verse and it was just fire. We linked up and we performed it together. We got some more music together as well.”

Bieber who is one of the biggest stars in the entertainment scene also thanked the West African superstar for letting him be on the 'song of the summer'.

That wasn't all, Bieber even made his own video for his verse and would perform the song with Wizkid on his set at Made in America.
