Actor and gospel star Alliwah paid tribute to Sir Jack. He wrote, "These are just a few different faces that said a lot about your immerse knowledge on what theatre is all about.

Your listening power and the great responses made you a teacher and the last resort to many who were willing to learn from the best.

To make this profession a career I admired the great minds and actors of the early '90s and their undying zeal and passion for this space.

I was lucky to learn from the best and one of these greats was Sir JO. I spent years to understand why they called you Sir and in my small walk, you remained the undisputed Sir Jacob Otieno.

In my small library, I got books and writings you gave me or emailed me to read and better my theatre knowledge.

Theatrix Arts Ensemble and I mourn the fall of a legend and a teacher. RIP Mkurugenzi as we fondly called each other."
