Joseph Irungu alias Jowie risked going back to remand prison after the Director of Public Prosecutions made an application in June this year seeking to cancel his bond.

The prosecution wanted to have Jowie behind bars because he had violated his bail conditions by getting into a fight at club 1824.

“On March 7 while at 1824 Jowie assaulted Rodgers Okuta but even though the complaint was withdrawn, it is quite clear that he has proceeded to commit a similar offence or crime resulting in bodily injury of another person while out on bail,” read an affidavit from Chief Inspector Maxwell Otieno.

Jowie has now told the court that he was too drunk on the day that he is accused of assaulting Rodgers Okuta at club 1824.

He said he could not remember what happened in the club other than being assisted to enter into a Taxi by one of his friend.

Jowie says he was taken to one of his siblings and later taken to Lang’ata Hospital since he had a deep cut.
