Jalango makes a public apology to tweep Joe Muchiri

Jalango has apologized to Joe Muchiri after the courts squashed the enrollment of Huduma Number cards for official use by Kenyans.

The Morning Kiss host says he and Joe almost became enemies after he forced the tweep to go and register for a Huduma Number.

"This government has really given me character development. This year has not worked well for me. All the things I supported have failed from BBI and now the huduma card.

The High Court recently quashed the decision by the state to roll out Huduma Number cards, ruling that it was illegal.

Justice Jairus Ngaah said the state erred by not conducting a data protection impact assessment before rolling out the cards.

“An order is hereby issued to bring into this honourable court to quash the government decision of November 18, 2020, to roll out Huduma cards for being ultra vires of the data protection act 2019,” the court ruled.

The judge has further ordered the government to carry out the impact assessment before rolling out the cards.
