Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV, Kuria said he was hospitalized after a blanket he had bought to warm his numb legs exploded living him with 3rd-degree burns.
"Two weeks ago a friend of mine who has been insisting for some time convinced me to use a gadget for my numb legs. The gadget burnt my feet.
I went home and my feet exploded. They had to do emergency surgery, which I have undergone. The gadget costs almost a quarter a million and I was on the verge of buying one for my mum, but it's nothing but a deadly weapon.
It's very easy to get depressed asking why I listened to that guy, what I learned is what you need for healing is good mental preparedness.
I have seen my friends go down because they allowed self-pity and depression to get to them."
