Media personality Adelle Onyango is in France for the Sommet Afrique event.
At France, Adelle held a meeting with the country's President Emmanuel Macron and the Minister Delegate for Gender Equality, Diversity, and Equal Opportunities.
In her social media, Adelle explained that her visit was aimed at building solutions for victims of sexual violence.
She wrote;
"Having a meeting with president @emmanuelmacron on Tuesday and all the workshops I’ve been in this week, have birthed such deep introspective moments for me.
As an African and global citizen, there’s an honest introspection on two fronts; my responsibility in articulating the glaring issues in France’s relationship with Africa now, not limited to, but built heavily on colonization (and the lack of acknowledgment of its effects).
And then, the expansion of the issues to champion. Obviously you know my focus is on #EndingSexualViolence but the more I work in this space the more I realize how it’s not an isolated issue from others so the solution needs an understanding of a lot more.
As I prepare the speech I’m giving at @sommetafriquefrance these are just some of my thoughts. Wish me luck!"
