'I couldn't believe it,' says Kajairo after seeing late mum's body

Legendary comedian Peter Kaimenyi, alias Kajairo, is grieving after his mother Susan Mbajo died on Sunday morning.

Announcing the news to his fans, the comedian wrote;

"We loved you but God loved you more! RIP, Mummy."

Adding, "I will surely and deeply miss you, your humour, wit, words of encouragement, passion for God and work was relentless! Everyone knew you were a star whenever they met you."

He thanked everyone who prayed for her, adding that she is now at a better place, watching over them.

"God, we thank you for her life well lived! And as we lay her to rest, please spare her soul and give us the comfort and strength to push on! We shall soon meet again."

While speaking at the entrance of the morgue where he had gone to see the body, Kajairo wrote;

"I couldn't believe it!! but it's true mum amepumzika. Thank you guy's for your wishes, prayers and support so far."

He also asked fans to help give  a befitting send-off;

"Those wishing to support us in giving our mum a dignified sendoff. The budget is Kes 750,000. Send your love gift through the Treasurer (Catherine Kimathi) 0716 549 553. Thank you so much and God bless you"
