• "If Edgar needs assistance, a lawyer, or a safe house, my DM is open." - Boniface Mwangi
Activist Boniface Mwangi has offered to help Blogger Edgar Obare, whose brother was Kidnapped on Saturday.
Having faced life threats and arrests due to his activism, Bony says he can help Edgar in dealing with such threats and also finding a safe place to seek refuge.
"I have seen people tagging me on Edgar Obare's post. I can't post my solidarity on it since comments are restricted. If Edgar needs assistance, a lawyer, or a safe house, my DM is open. Our country is broken but has a somewhat functional police service and judiciary," Boniface Mwangi wrote on his social media page.
He urged the blogger to make sure he officially reports the threats to security officers.
"He should go report his complaint officially at a police station. It's very important. Sending him positive vibes and love. He can dm me and i can advise him what to do," he added.
On Sunday afternoon, Obare revealed that his brother had been kidnapped, coerced to reveal his whereabouts.
He said the hunters had been following his brother for some time to know Edgar's whereabouts.
This has terrified the blogger, who expresses mistrust in the Kenyan justice system.
"I would like to ask you to pray for my family. Saturday night I was informed that they kidnapped my brother.
They kidnapped him, tortured him, trying to get information about my whereabouts, that’s one of the scariest thing.
I am so sad that he had to go through that, and that some people in this country would go so low and go after my family. I hate this country, how they get away with everything," Edgar said.
