Frankie JustGymIt and Corazon Kwamboka have been together for two years. The pair met in mid-2019 amid the disastrous break-ups the two had come from.

Frankie had broken up earlier in the year with the mother of his first 3 sons, Maureen Waititu.

Their split came as a shock to many as most Kenyans thought that they would last "forever" as marriages go.

As we would later on find out, Frankie and Maureen's split had come under very ugly circumstances with accusations and counter-accusations between the two.

So one could surmise that there was still some bad blood between the two and the separation might have been a painful one. More than four years together and two sons would do that to any couple.

Corazon herself had split up with her Italian man, something that she took some time to come to terms with. 

She even went to Europe in a Hail Mary attempt hoping that she would get him back but that didn't happen as she expected.

So two broken people met at their lowest points relationship-wise and would start dating but not seriously at first.

Many (including I) thought that it was a rebound relationship and that once the fun was out of the way, they would be done.

But shock on us, the two would announce a pregnancy a few months after confirming they were dating.

They got a beautiful baby son called Taiyari, shortly afterward. Even then, I still thought that this relationship would be like Tanasha Donna and Diamond Platnumz's relationship that ended shortly after they got a son together.

But their relationship would still go strong, and yesterday they surprised us with an engagement that happened in the beautiful locale of Zanzibar.

So how were they able to do it and how have they lasted that long? 

Firstly, I think that as they were both coming from their own pain, they both used those experiences and tried to avoid repeating any mistake they might have made in their past relationships, in their own coupling. 

Secondly, they have made each other their safe place. They are each other's peace and solace. Just look at the way Frankie and Corazon teamed up to fight Maureen last year after she had a spat with the fitness instructor. 

Lastly, I believe that getting a baby together so shortly after they started dating was also a factor in them staying together. 

This is mainly because Frankie stuck it out, showing Corazon that he was in it for the long haul and it wasn't a hit it and quit it affair.

For Corazon, it showed her that Frankie was a man she could honour and respect, someone she could ultimately build with.

Will their relationship last? I don't know...But so far it looks like they might just go the distance, something I honestly hope happens.
