Legendary Kenyan rapper Nazizi Hirji has shared how she and her brother would accompany their dad to the bar to do their homework.

Don't get it twisted, Nazizi's parents are Muslims but not the strict type hence they allowed them a certain degree of freedom.

Speaking during an interview with Churchill, Nazizi says the bar hangouts with her dad made it easy for them to interact with people.

"My dad would pick us from school every day and he would take us along with him to the local bar. He would join other wazees while we sat somewhere doing our homework.

My dad was such an interesting guy. He would be enjoying his drink and checking our homework while teaching us what we needed to be taught,"  Nazizi shared.

Nazizi added

"We would be gifted with chips, soda, or coins to play games such as table pool. By the time we finished school, we knew very many clubs.

It taught us so much about dealing with people from different backgrounds and am forever thankful for that."

At what age did you first go to a bar?
