Wahu Mathenge has said she struggled with education as she was not a smart kid.

The mother of two in an interview with Churchill shared that for her to stay in that school, she had to spend hours studying.

"I went to Hospital Hill Primary school.

I loved swimming and running, debates, and other competitive activities. I finished primary school and  I went to Precious Blood Riruta.

I had to work so hard at my studies that is even how I got a chance to study at Precious Blood. I had to read a lot.

I was a below-average performer academically and that used to stress me a lot. But my dad used to encourage me by telling me that I am number 1 from the bottom.

It was not easy but precious Blood taught me how to push myself and that's something I carry to date. Am also very neat. You could never be untidy while in that school.

I was a struggling student but that is when I realized I could do music."
