Every celebrity has a hilarious or interesting story behind their street monikers.

For Radio Jambo drive host Daniel Githinji Mwangi a.k.a Mbusii his name was inspired by a breakup song by Tanzanian bongo star Matonya.

In a candid interview with Jalango on his YouTube channel, Mbusii narrated how he got his name.

Mbusii narrated how he was mesmerized by Matonya's Vaileti song that he played on repeat.

At the time he was at Ghetto Radio and he was nursing a broken heart.

What drew him to the song was the fact that in the song there is a lyric where Matonya mentions the word "Mbusii".

On-air, the reggae die-hard repeated that section of the song sooo much that his co-host, Rapcha the Sayantist, took to calling him Mbusii in jest.

It did not take long for the nickname to stick and after some time it grew to be a recognised brand.

Watch the song that helped Mbusii come up with his brand name and now well known street moniker.
