Guardian Angel has opened up on how tough life was growing up after his dad disowned him.

This led to the gospel star ending up on the streets.

Speaking during an interview with Ala C the ‘Nadeka’ hitmaker shared,

"I was from a very rich family my grandfather (maternal) was among the richest families in Butere.

I was the first street boy in Butere.

My mum was unmarried when she had me and my dad denied responsibility so there was some back and forth and I ended up becoming a street boy in Butere.

My mum was working in Nairobi at the time while I was in Butere. Later she came and took me with him to Nairobi.

Not long after that she lost her job as a nurse and would constantly complain about how life imekua ngumu, so I was like why would I keep living with someone always complaining about how hard life is," He joked.

Adding, "Given I had been on the streets I chose to go back there and make ends meet. She kept reminding me that she did not sire me alone."

Guardian added, "I went back to the streets in Nairobi and stayed for 1 and a half years.

During that period I met an ex-colleague of my mum who had a children’s home and took me there to live with other kids.

I stayed there for some time but felt the conditions were not what I was used to so I went back to the streets.

The President gave a directive that no street kid was to be seen on the streets and that is how I went back home."

He has since found his calling which is ministering to people through gospel music.
