South African rapper AKA is back into making music months after his fiancee Anele Tembe fell from the tenth floor of a hotel in Cape town where the couple were staying.

After her death, the rapper announced that he would take a break from social media.

“The tragic loss of Anele has taken a great toll on me emotionally and psychologically. Insinuations and innuendos made on my personhood have made it even more difficult to process, and the strain our families have taken is unspeakable. Which is why at this time I choose to retreat to honour my journey, praying that the moments of stillness may bring me closer to some clarity,”

“As we undergo this painful journey, I have entrusted my team to handle all of my affairs in the public domain including all my social media platforms,”

One of the rapper's friends tweeted that

“Spoke with Kiernan (AKA) last night, he made me listen to one of his new records. That ish is FIRE!! TRUUUUST ME!!!,”

Another friend to the rapper added

"That new EP too fire, so tempted to bump it on my IG story but I have to respect the process"

This comes days after it was revealed that AKA and his late fiancee might have been in a toxic relationship. A video showed the rapper breaking into a bedroom door to where Anele had locked herself up.

He insisted in a statement to the public that he is a witness and not a suspect.
