It's obvious that we had many people whose resolutions for last year included getting married. However, the majority of whom harbored such ambitions, didn't get to bring them to fruition.

Now that we are in a new year, we also have many of us who still have the same ambitions; to get married in 2017.

One such person is popular Tanzanian rapper Professor Jay!! He has vowed that no matter what, it's going down this year!

The Nikusaidiaje hit rapper, who is also a Member of Parliament for Mikumi Constituency, went down on his knees on the brink of the New Year to propose to his bootylicious baby mama Grace Mgonjo.

The couple have a daughter together called Lisa.

Just a few days to the proposal, Jay, real name Joseph Haule, wrote a tear-jerking love note to Grace.

He wrote in Kiswahili:

"Thamani yako maishani mwangu haielezeki, Umekuwa chachu ya mafanikio yangu na Furaha ya Familia yetu na mwanetu mpenzi LISA, Umenipa nguvu na ujasiri kila ninapoelemewa na changamoto mbalimbali za duniani na kweli pamoja tumevuka Mabonde,milima na majabali, Inyeshe mvua liwake jua tuko pamoja Mpaka kinaeleweka na bado tunaendelea kupasua anga mpaka tuishangaze dunia, Naendelea kumuomba Mungu ili mpaka mwakani kipindi kama hiki tuwe tumetimiza AGANO na malengo yetu ya kuwa MWILI MMOJA mbele za Mungu? Napenda ulimwengu mzima, Duniani na Mbinguni, Viumbe wote wajue kuwa NAKUPENDA SANA na wewe ni muhimu kwangu kama PUMZI kwa kiumbe hai, Tuendelee kumuomba na kumtumainia Mwenyezi Mungu aliye hai ili aendelee kutupigania na kutimiza haja ya mioyo yetu, Happy birthday to you my sweetheart."
