A band member of popular gospel band, Adawnage, Austine Nyambok died on April 1.

The news was announced by his sister Lynne Odongo.

"I guess you never really know pain until you experience pain. Its a hard pill to swallow. My bro, my only bro. God saw it fit that you leave us so soon."

Lynne added,

"Such a kind, humble and loving being, full of talent. My heart is so broken 💔💔. Who ever thinks they can lose a sibling at any time in their lives? Death is so cruel! Rest easy Austine Nyambok, life is truly short. We know you are at a better place next to mum and dad. Watch over us from above. Always and forever in our hearts ❤️❤️❤️❤️."

The late's cousin Tobby Odhacha added, "I had a long afternoon today. A day full of heartaches and extreme sadness whenever the thoughts of the few moments we shared cross my mind. I lost a cousin. We got the sad news yesterday."

He continued,

"The Onyando family are mourning the loss of a young soul Eng. Austine Nyambok , son to the late Veterinarian Tobias Odongo whom I was named after. My prayers are with Filder Nyambok , Lynne Odongo , family and friends."

Here are some of the tributes trickling in.

Kemboi Felix: Yesterday we woke up to the news that Austine Nyambok was no more.

An incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist and musician par excellence. We played music together when we formed our first band back in Eldoret, and when I moved to Nairobi he was gracious enough to introduce me to important contacts in the live music scene.

May you rest in eternal peace bro, till we meet again.

Jay Loltome: Rest well Austine Nyambok … no words can express the sadness…

The first all-rounded musician I know, always smiling and ready to serve.

Heavenly gained, till we meet again.😭

Richie Malik Jilani: Distant memory jamming with Mr Austine Nyambok on Keyboard in 2018 “Truly lives are like rivers: Eventually they go where they must." Why so soon though. Fare thee well. RIP ninja... truly saddened.
