Losing a loved one leaves a void no one can fill and only the bereaved know how much pain it is.
It has been eight months since Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore passed away and his widow Wambui Kamiru is yet to come to terms with the loss.
She’s still grieving.
Wambui, an installation artist, reminisces about the good times she shared with the love of her life before he passed.
She penned a touching message to him. Wambui wrote
To dream of you and to wake up to you. Each new day takes me further from your touch but closer to you.
In another post, she wrote,
Even as I am heavy under this cloak of grief,
My wounded and torn heart still finds words of praise for God’s blessings.
Even as space rings with my lover’s distant voice,
My ears are filled with sounds from the living.
Rain beating the earth softly.
Bob died on July 1, 2019, after a long battle with acute myeloid leukaemia cancer.
He died aged 61.
