Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore, who passed away today morning will be buried tomorrow in a private ceremony.
On Thursday, Bob Collymore, Nick Reed, Vodafone CEO (who was flying in today) and Nicholas Ng’ang’a, Safaricom Chairman were scheduled to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House.
Safaricom board Nicholas Ng’ang’a said Bob Collymore was ready and at peace, in the two years he’s been ill.
Its been nine years since he joined Safaricom leading with a vision. Safaricom will honour him by completing the work he was passionate about,’ he said.
it is sad but we have to live with reality.
The board will give A way forward later in the day.
There won’t be such loss of Management. There will be a private meeting on the way forward in terms of the takeover of Bob’s position.
Bob died aged 61 and he has left behind a widow Wambui Kamiru and four children.
