Residents of Mageta Island in Siaya County are in utter shock after a renowned pastor killed his lover before committing suicide.

Elisha Ogola, a preacher at Roho Ofweny Church, murdered Linet Ngoha in cold blood and mutilated her genitals.

Ogola then took a poisonous substance and was found gasping for air by neighbours who broke into house after they saw blood flowing from his house.

The preacher who was aged 57 died at Usenge beach while being taken to Usenge Police Station.

The incident was confirmed by Mageta Location Chief Ambrose Ogema who said the man might have drugged the mother of six before killing her.

He also said that he had received complaints from the woman's husband who claimed the two were having an illicit affair.

Before taking his life, the pastor left a note saying the woman had swindled his Sh100,000 and that is what drove him to such extreme lengths.
