Whenever the name Dandora is mentioned, the first thing that hits any random mind is the filthy eyesore of the arguably biggest dumpsite in Africa, which is situated right in the middle of the Nairobi's Eastlands estate.

The other thing that rocks the mind whenever the name Dandora is mentioned is crime. The expansive estate is home to some of the most dreaded criminals in the city. Here, criminal gangs and cartels continue to spread their terror on residents. If it's not extortion, its house-break-ins and "ngetas".

In 2014, Juliani announced his plans to establish an art hub for the youth of Dandora. He said that the hub would include a community radio station, recording studio, music school and office space. Its main agenda, he said, would be to develop art into a paying career, as well as nurturing and supporting business start-ups. He chose Dandora because it's "the birthplace of Kenya's hip-hop and that's where l grew up and started my rap career."

Now, Juliani is almost done with sprucing up the ground floor of the building in Dandora phase two, where the hub will be located.

He posted the news on Instagram today...
