The death of 28-year-old Dr Stephen Mogusu has ignited mixed reactions online.

Mogusu succumbed to Covid-19 while receiving treatment in the ICU ward at Kenyatta University Teaching Research and Referral Hospital.

The young family man before his death penned a note to his fellow medics, which has gone viral.

'My dear colleagues, let me admonish you today to get your pay or get out while you can with your health or life intact. Usually, I'd write and write but today I just want to say save your miserable selves from these institutions. You'll live to earn again,' read his last words.

Fred Amisi Your death will not go in vain the leadership in Kenya let you down in the hour of need, only son in the family RIP Dr.Stephen Mogusu

Richard Morumbwa So sad, can't imagine what the family is going to through.

Karugu Wyre Suzie This so so sad. N they are busy with bbi. Sitawai elewa this people called leaders n it's time we Kenyans stand n change that tuko na 1 yr to bring down this dynasty. Mtu hajawai kula shida hajui shida ni nini

Nungari Mugi I'm thinking about Dr. Mogusu who just died of Covid. He has been in the frontline of this pandemic. No pay for 5 months. Has a wife and a 5 month old baby. Na vile babies ni garama 😥.

I'm thinking about his medical bill. His grieving widow. His tiny tot that will never know his/ her Dad.

I'm thinking about these other ones here campaigning for BBI and setting aside 14 billion for it. I'm wondering why they are so out of touch with what is happening on the ground.

How can they expect doctors to understand and continue being patient without a salary for 5 months, and in a pandemic no less? Why aren't they listening to the cry of the ordinary mwananchi? I feel so unheard. So ignored as a citizen of this country. Like they will just keep doing what is to their advantage and to hell with the rest of us.

In all honesty I am asking God to judge them now. They have become too much. Let God arise and scatter them all. Let the Covid money they stole become a snare to them. Let their greed trap them. Let their selfish ambition become their downfall. It is too much Lord. It is just too much!

Paula Nyambura Jana I went down on my knees after I saw it on the news and I cried out to God enough is enough let your wrath down on the evil leaders this is too much. Though my biggest concern is why we as the citizens still vote them back in, how we now have 4M BBI signatures, pia sisi Iko shida.

Claire Kerubo Matarac No words to express my sorrow!
