Another Fire! Here is the devastating damage from the Korogocho fire

Hours after the devastating fire to Gikomba market, another market is also razed down by a fire.

This unfortunate fire incidences has caused an alarm to the point where Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja wrote to the directorate of criminal investigations.

"I am writing to request that your office institute immediate thorough investigations and also form a special team to find out die actual muses of these fires. The manner and frequency of these fires is suspect and the number of lives and value of property lost can not be assumed or wished away."

Adding, "On behalf of Nairobi residents, I urge your office to act with speed and help get to the root cause of these firs and if there is any form of foul play or ulterior motives those found culpable should be made to face the full force of the law. My office is ready to offer any kind of support and to collaborate with your office in order to get to the bottom of these issues you."

Property of unknown value was last night destroyed in a fire incident in Korogocho which affected a local market.

Locals and police say they are yet to establish the cause of the fire that took long to contain.

No one was injured in the incident. It came hours after that of Gikomba which claimed 15 lives and left 70 others with injuries.

Of those injured, more than 25 were treated and discharged while the rest are in hospital.

The fire started from a timber yard before spreading to a nearby residential place. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
