A gang raided the Nairobi home of Kenya’s two-time world marathon champion and two-time Olympic silver medalist, and a former world record holder Catherine Ndereba and robbed her of household goods and cash.

The gang also escaped with the Kenya Prisons uniforms that were in the Karen house at the time of the incident. She is still serving at the prisons as a warder.

Police say investigations into the attack have been launched with an aim of getting those behind it.

Ndereba and her family were unhurt in the last night incident. Police said Ndereba, who won four Boston Marathons and two Chicago Marathons, was at home at the time of the attack.
