Former Kiss FM radio presenter and content creator Adelle Onyango has revealed the details of her meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to Adelle, among the many things they discussed is on how to empower the youth.

Taking to his social media she penned,

'Today I asked the president about how he intends to bridge the disconnect between the programs govt says it has to empower the youth and the youth actually being involved in the creation, access and evaluation of said programs.

Also if there will be govt effort in partnering with social entrepreneurs who have already found solutions to community and youth problems!

His answer is available on the statehouse FB page and I hope we can keep tabs and hold him & his govt accountable...loudly.'

She further added,

'I also moderated a panel where amongst the many things we spoke about were teenage pregnancies and challenged the ministry of education (on the panel).

To work with the MoH, private orgs that work in the SRH space and the teenagers, to understand the problem & create solutions that PROTECT teenagers from predators/rapists & arm them with knowledge and access to SRH services (not what we’ve seen happen over the past few weeks 🤦🏾‍♀️)'

Adelle added that she is passionate about changing society and that she is glad she is in a position to help do so.

'Also Wawira Njiru (founder of food for education) gave powerful pointers on how govt needs to do more for young people especially during this pandemic.

I’m really glad I got to speak my truth on issues I’m super passionate about - it’s sometimes scary to share your truth and speak on issues you think need highlighting but our voices are so important.'
