Nominated Senator Emma Mbura has urged Mombasa women to deny their men sex if they frustrate their efforts to register as voters and participate in the next elections.

Speaking at Mazeras over the weekend, Mbura said time has come for women in the region to take a leading role in determining the leadership of the region. She said women must register as voters in large numbers so as to have a say in the forthcoming 2017 general elections.

Mbura said women and children bear the brunt of bad leadership but can reverse the trend owing to their large numbers especially if translated into votes.

"Gone are the days when our husbands used to dictate terms on us especially matters concerning leaders. This time we need to independently decide our destiny"

Said Emma. The senator left many in stitches after she made the remarks. She hailed the women intensifying table banking activities saying they have not only improved their lives but also proven that they can be independent in life.

"I commend your efforts of initiating merry-go-round activities because most of you can now afford a smile which can only last longer if we get a good leadership".

Emma Mbura also rooted for Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro governorship bid saying he is better placed to lead  County residents.

"I have a goodwill message from my governor but not the incumbent. Receive greetings from Gideon Mung'aro who has said he will soon tour this area to campaign for governor and I urge to elect him" said the senator.

While Mung'aro has already declared to face incumbent and former Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi, Emma who has intensified visits to her Kilifi County home has raised speculation she could be eyeing the county woman rep currently held by Aisha Jumwa.
