The postmortem on the body of the slain security guard at the Office of the Deputy President Sgt Frank Kipyegon Kenei’s body is scheduled for today.
This will determine the nature the probe will pursue. Preliminary findings have shown he may have been killed.
The guards manning two gates getting into the Villa Franca estate, Imara Daima said they last saw Kenei on February 17 at about 4 pm three days before his before the body was found.
Kenei’s body was found in his house on February 20 with a bullet wound in the head.
Homicide detectives revisited the house where Kenei’s body and reconstructed the scene using experts as the probe into the incident went on.
Kenei was scheduled to record a statement with the DCI on February 19 regarding the incident in which former sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa and his team visited the second floor of Harambee House Annex and signed a fake Sh39 billion arms deal.
His death has put breaks to the probe of the visit, which police were investigating because he was the man who was in charge of security at the ODP that day. Some officers have described the death as treachery.
