Nairobi ni shamba la mawe. People hustle anyway they can to make a living in this unforgiving and unyielding city.

Akothee was at the tail end of a conman who tried to get her to sign a bogus music distribution contract. This comes after she just recovered from the horrible loss of her unborn twins.

Akothee who is know for her hits like Give It To Me and Niko Moyoni detailed how artistes are taken advantage of by "con offices" who call them up with a deal that doesn't benefit them. She cautioned her fellow artistes in a Facebook post.

In a social media rant, Akothe wrote,

"To all my fellow artist please be carefull with which distribution channels you sign a contract with , there are so many con offices around who deprive artists their sweat, you go to studio to fetch audio, you sell your mother's Land to shoot a quality video, you hype it & ran from one tv / radio stations like a mad human being to make sure your music has Reached the world, then someone seated behind some desk with one laptop contacts you & promise heaven in distributing your music, in fact they start by telling you that we have signed @diamondplatnumz @aytanzania etc ,soon they will say they have signed Rihanna , they mention big names just to confuse you and win your trust! Collect all your content & collect money on your behalf, please please please, the industry is already too tight, don't make your artistic life miserable by signing any contracts without proper research, this hungry hyenas can kill your dreams, tales of give a dog a bone & try to take it back."
