It may surprise you to know that it is not just cosmetic surgery procedures which can cause harm to your health and physique. There are loads of  other common day-to-day procedures which can be dangerous to your health. Some can pose a substantial risk of infection, cancer and tissue damage.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons notes the number of cosmetic procedures performed continues to rise and last year there were a total of nearly 12 million done.

Below are the top beauty procedures and how they can potentially harm your body.

  1. Manicure/Pedicure

Some nail polish, although labeled toxins free, can contain chemicals that are linked to cancer.

Other times a salon may use cuticle removal tools which haven’t properly been cleaned. This can spread infection from client to another.

2.Bikini Waxing

Many ladies know the pain associated with waxing but forget the dangers that lie in life threatening bacterial infections that can cause damage to one's private parts.

You may need to have your implant removed because of complications such as pain in the nipple or breaIn fact, st area, hard lumps under the skin around the implant.

The implants may also cause leakage of the saltwater from inside the implant and collection of blood near the surgical site that may cause swelling and pain.

5. Butt and hips enlargement

Many women pay a lot of attention to their behind and hips because these body parts are central to their attractiveness in the eyes if men.

Out of the need to boost their confidence, some resort to enlarging these body parts, not knowing the side effects that come with it.

A report by Mail Online showed that at least 15 women died from butt implants between 2011 and 2015.

One of the major complications include haemorrhage (bleeding) during surgery, infection and rapture of the implant which causes ulceration causing blood in that region to be cut-off.
