De Mathew accident

Tributes continue to pour in for legendary singer John De Mathew. He died on Sunday night after his car rammed into a lorry near Blue Post Hotel.

The renowned Kikuyu Benga musician was on his way home after attending a fundraiser at Metro Bar organized by his fellow artiste Peter Kigia.

A video of John De Mathew’s last live performance on Saturday, August 17 has emerged and he was in a jovial mood.

He was singing and dancing along to one of his hit songs together with his band. Below is the video

Many used to refer to De Mathew as a prophet because of the message his songs carried.
