Notorious cyber-crime criminal known for conning job seekers arrested

Police have arrested a 29-year-old cyber-crime suspect who has been defrauding unsuspecting victims by purporting to be the General Manager, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Rift Valley region.

The suspect identified as Paul Mwangi Njihia was arrested by detectives attached to the Oversees Criminal Investigation Office in Nairobi.

Njihia is a former computer technology student at a local university and had created an online profile purporting to be the USAID General Manager, Rift Valley Region which he was allegedly using to obtain facilitation fees from members of the public.

Police said his Job seeking victims who were later issued with fake Gate Passes are reported to have sent a substantial amount as facilitation fees to a bank account linked to the suspect.

The suspect is set to be charged with obtaining money by false pretences and personation. Very commendable job to the entire team! Remember to check reliable sources.
