The Cruel Sting Of Death! From Lucy Kibaki To Jacob Juma, Here Are The Prominent Kenyans We Have Lost So Far This Year

Kifo haina huruma. Death is so cruel. It leaves a wound that will never heal and a gap that cannot be filled. 2016 has been a very bad year. We have lost many Kenyans among them prominent people and we hope that they are all resting in peace.

Well, from the former first lady Lucy Kibaki to famous businessman Jacob Juma, here are the prominent Kenyans we have lost so far this year.

  1. Lucy Kibaki

The former first lady passed on April this year while undergoing treatment at a London hospital.

2. Salim Junior

Paul Salim popularly Salim Junior passed on early January this year. The legendary Mugithi singer passed on while undergoing treatment at the Nakuru Memorial Hospital after battling a chest infection. He was among the top popular Mugithii singers in the country.

3. Wilkister Muga

Death robbed us off the multitalented Wilkister Muga in March this year. She passed on, at the Coptic Hospital after a short illness. She worked for KBC for more than 15 years as a  newsreader (KBC Radio Taifa), radio producer and the presenter of KBC Current Affairs Programme.

4. Diana Chelele

The late Kalenjin singer ChelelebDiana was found murdered in her house in Kapwen, Bomet County early this year. Chelele's body was discovered by a family member, and it had deep stab wounds in the abdominal area. She left behind two adorable twin daughters.

5. Soita Shitanda

The Former Housing Minister Peter Soita Shitanda passed away last month while undergoing treatment at the Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted for a couple of weeks. He succumbed to diabetes.

6. Jacob Juma

Prominent businessman Jacob Juma was shot dead by unknown gunmen who ambushed him near Lenana School in Nairobi while on his way home early last year. His mysterious death left many in shock till now.

7. Kelvin Mugalla

Kelvin Mugalla was stabbed to death by his 19-year-old lover following a domestic quarrel after they disagreed on an undisclosed issue. Mugalla, a Bachelor of Arts student at the University of Nairobi and a player at National Super League side Wazito FC was in his prime when he met his sudden death.
