Two employees lost Sh1 million moments after they had left a bank in Kisii.

The two told police they wanted to use the money in clearing some pending bills when they were attacked and robbed.

According to the workers, they had left a bank and headed towards Kisii-Nyatieko's general route aboard a salon car.

The victims said on reaching the Egesa River, they were blocked by another salon car which had three occupants armed with pistols and ordered to hand over the cash that was in envelopes.

The workers handed over the two envelopes before the suspected thugs drove off.

They were not injured, police said.

Police say they are investigating the matter and that a team had been set up to pursue the gang.

Police suspect the gang had prior information on the transactions and that no arrest has been made so far.
