The murder and severe burns on the body of a Nigerian man and his Kenyan girlfriend were discovered in the Kamulu neighborhood of Kayole, Nairobi.
The two were identified as Kamulu socialite Rachael Kanini "Kaniss" and her Nigerian lover Olujobi Gbenga alias Omodollar.
Police added that they had not yet determined the reason for their grisly murder.
Some people think it was a horrible business agreement because the two were tortured, killed, and had their car set on fire.
On Sunday, June 25, they were taken hostage, then their remains were transported to the location where they were discovered burned.
According to investigators, the two resided on Ridgeways Kiambu Road.
On the day they were scheduled to meet, Gbenga allegedly called Kanini.
and informed her he had been arrested by people purporting to be police officers after an accident near Muthaiga.
No one knows what happened next until the day their bodies were found in an open field burnt with what looked like acid.
It appears that after Kanini turned up, she was bundled into her boyfriend's car and driven to death.
Her own car was dumped in Thome area in the city while that of her boyfriend was burnt.
Nairobi police commander Adamson Bungei said they are investigating to establish who was behind the murder and the motive.
"Experts are working on the case to establish what happened," he said.
