Probe into death of NYS personnel found dead in Yatta begins

Detectives are investigating the murder of a National Youth Service personnel whose body was found on a farm in the area.

The body of Simon Nganga, 22, was found lying near a water pump at Vegegro Kenya Limited Farm in the area on June 18.

He was in his official uniform at the time the body was found.

It is not yet clear who was behind his murder and the motive but police said they are investigating the matter.

According to police, the body was found with visible bruises on the left side of the head.

Police say they suspect Nganga was killed elsewhere and the body dumped at the scene.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy to establish how he died.

A team of detectives visited the scene on Monday as part of the probe into the incident ahead of the planned autopsy.

This is as the family demanded justice for the murder.

Police say they are investigating a case of murder.

“We are yet to establish the motive but this seems to be a case of murder,” said one investigator.

No arrest has been made so far.

Elsewhere in Mowlem, Dandora, a 26-year-old man was found murdered and his body abandoned on the roadside.

The body of Don Nyundo alias Mato was found at the gate of their rented house on Monday morning after the suspected murder.

The body had a head injury indicating the victim was hit with a blunt object.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy as part of the probe into the murder.

No arrest has been made so far.

In Limuru, Kiambu County, the body of a man was found dumped outside a nursing home after suspected murder.

Officials at the Limuru Nursing Home reported that one unknown male adult was dumped at the entrance of the facility while bleeding from a deep cut on his head.

He was immediately attended to and later referred to Tigoni sub-county hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body was moved to the same hospital mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem examination as part of the probe into the murder.

No arrest has been made so far, police said as they added they are probing the motive.
